Clicks when recording audio

Hello everyone, please help me!

I am recording saxophone ensembles for my students. I usually make a metronome track and then record the different saxophones. I used to record on a desktop PC without any problems. Now I have moved to a laptop and have a lot of clicks in my recordings and don’t know how to avoid them.

My software configuration is:
Windows 11 home / Audacity 3.6.3

Hardware:
Zoom H8 recorder as audio interface (I replaced the USB cable with an expensive and very good one, no results).
HP Envy x360 laptop, with an Intel i7-1355U /1.70Ghz CPU
32Gb Ram

Any help will be appreciated, thank you very much!

Pablo

Here there is an example of the “clicks”. They are in all the recording:

I’ve tried everything I have found with no results (closing everything, increasing buffer lenght, recording mono, etc.)

Thanks!

The file you have attached is not playable. (WAV format is better than mp3).

Click removal did not work ?

Effects>Noise Removal and Repair>Click Removal

Hi Red_Pyro. Didn’t work, but I would mainly want to avoid the clicks at its origin.
