Class Action Lawsuit against Audacity and Devs? Why in the world would you release another version with the product still crashing?

I believe you are setting yourselves up for a class-action lawsuit, knowingly putting out flawed software. You cannot hide behind the “it’s free” label. The Supreme Court has ruled “free” software is held to the same standards as everything else. When you knowingly distribute software that you KNOW crashes, you can be held liable for damages.

Fix this or REMOVE IT. Go back to the last version that did not crash and stay there until you hire someone smart enough to figure this out.

Not true. Also, you may want to read the license terms: GPL v3

As this is a community support forum, you may find it more useful to clearly describe the problems you are having, in the hope that other members of the Audacity community can help you.
