Chinese popup

Hey Guys,

New to this forum. I had an open project, then went to export to mp3. Since this is the first time I’m using the program since downloading on my freshly reset PC, I go to select the lame_enc.dll file which I have on my desktop. Audacity prompts me to fill in the description for the file - name of song, artist, album name etc. But when I click OK to convert it, a random Chinese popup appears. Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks for any answers in advance

What version of Audacity do you have and did you download it from here?

Download the special Audacity version of Lame v3.99.3 for Windows.exe and run to install LAME. It should get installed to a Lame For Audacity folder somewhere under Program Files, and Audacity should find it automatically when you export as MP3. (You may want to delete, rename, or move the lame file on your desktop so Audacity doesn’t try to use it.)

If Audacity doesn’t automatically find the “new improved” lame files, go to Edit → Preferences → Libraries → Locate and “browse” for it if necessary.
