Hello, I’m trying to song lots of male songs and for that, I need to get the tone of the songs, higher. I just installed Audacity, and could change the tone of a couple of songs, but the voices of the choir now sound like “Alvin and the Chipmunks”, please HELP.
We can’t make you into a radio announcer or an opera singer unless you started out like that. Effect > Change Pitch only works for maybe one or two piano notes either direction and sometimes not even then.
A high voice isn’t all high. Sibilants, plosives, mouth noises and other parts of speech don’t change person to person, but they all do change when you apply the effect, giving you weird chipmunks in one direction or a scary movie monster in the other.
This is a particular problem if you’re messing with a mixed song. So I don’t think we’re going to get there with our tools.
