Changing interface back to old default

I’ve used Audacity for a number of years without issue until i downloaded the latest version where the interface is simplified. Now I can’t find anything, such as setting the frequency rate , as it’s all hidden behind menus. This is a completely retrograde step in my opinion as it means having to search high and ow for the controls that used to just be ‘there’ obvious and intuitive to use. Audacity isn’t the only offender in this respect as there seems to be a general trend to create ‘clean’ interfaces where all the features are hidden behind menus. It is as it is, but is there a way of easily restoring to the old ‘complicated’ default interface where all the controls are visible?

You would need to go back to an earlier version of Audacity.

In the latest version(s) of Audacity there is no setting to show the rate of a track.

You can get old versions of Audacity from here:
