I recently installed the 3.2.2 Audacity update and now my recordings sound like I have my head in a bucket; tinny, maybe, but I don’t know this terminology so that might not be the right word. Prior to the update, the sound was very clean and…warm? I guess? I didn’t change any settings besides installing the update. I’m using macOS Ventura 13.0.1 and a FIFINE K678 Microphone. I know there are any number of settings I could play with, but before the update the sound was amazing without changing a thing. Why might this be happening?
You’re probably recording from the Mac’s internal microphone. Check the Audio Setup Toolbar.

Thank you, I have checked that. It’s set to the correct microphone.
I assume you have your headphones plugged into the microphone.
Check that Transport (menu) > Transport Options > Software Playthrough is not checked.
