Cassette to MP3 Conversion Pyle PT-659DU

Hello and thank you first for trying to help me out. I’m a newbie with Audacity but I’m an old timer with music and digitizing but no expert by any stretch of the imagination. I’m running Audacity 2.2.2 on Windows 10.

I purchased a Pyle PT-659DU supposedly Cassette to MP3 Converter Double Deck to try and digitize my high quality home made cassettes. The instructions are very vague and don’t explain any steps on how to perform this task. Only mentions connecting the USB to the laptop. I’ve done so and now customer service says I need audacity software but still no other instructions.

Has anyone here used this model of cassette deck? Any suggestions from anyone? I’m trying to figure out the audacity software but only seem to work the microphone but no USB or music audio. Again thank you in advance.

Plug-in the USB before starting Audacity and then select the USB device as your Recording Device and you should be ready to go!

Here is a tutorial about digitizing records & tapes.

I recommend you download the current version which is 2.3.3 (with a new release due soon). The older version will probably work for you, but it makes things easier if we are “all on the same page.”
