Audacity 2.0.5 Windows XP 5.1 at SP3
I am brand new to Audacity and downloaded it with the hope of solving my problem. I have recorded a cassette tape music program on an older recorder that I have determined has recorded at a faster speed than normal: playback on that recorder is normal but on several other tape recorders the recording is one half step higher, distorting and shortening the program material. Is it possible to record the tape with Audacity and produce a file with the program as if it were recorded at the proper speed? Grateful for advice on this.
Eric
You can probably do a reasonable job in post production. Audacity doesn’t do anything in real time. Record the show in Audacity and then Effect > Change Speed.

Thank you Koz and Gale, will give it a try.
