Cassette Tape - Noise Removal

Dear Audacity Fans,

I would appreciate some help with removing noise on this recording sample. This is originally an audio cassette tape that was recorded to PC using a generic Tape Deck to USB device (which unfortunately I didn’t have control over how it was recorded).

As you can hear, there seems to be background noise and possibly echos on the track. Any advice on how to make the speakers’ voices more clear, I would be grateful.

So far I have tried using the noise reduction, normalize and compress effects.

Many thanks,

childofsai

We didn’t get a sound sample. You can post the work on a file hosting service and point to it, or you can cut down a ten second stereo sample and post it on the forum.

More is good, but you can’t go much over 10 seconds stereo (2MB).
