When I am recording from my record player with USB lead, even when ‘overdub’ is turned off it still records my voice and room noises onto the track. I may be wrong but this only seems to have started since I downloaded the latest Audacity. It will mean i have to do the recording in another room, which can’t be right. grateful if you can throw some light on this!
You seem to be recording from your built-in microphone instead of the turntable.
Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices > Recording > Device. Make sure that’s pointed to the USB Sound Device and not the built-in microphone.
