Can't see wave forms

I can’t see wave forms on the timeline while recording and playing back. Perhaps I’ve missed something as it was working last time I used it. Thanks

Are you hearing audio but not seeing the waveform? Or not hearing audio and not seeing the waveform?

Do you see the bouncing sound meter? It’s possible to have sound so low a volume that only the sound meter works. No blue waves.

I am having the same problem. I checked the audio output, my computer, etc and after I finished editing and was laying some intro for the podcast I noticed the waveforms and the audio was gone. I see the envelope shadows but not wave or sound. VERY frustrating after so may hours of editing! I am not saving or closing it.
