Can't see cut lines even though enabled [SOLVED]

Hi -
I am using Audacity 2.1.1 on a Macbook Pro, OS 10.9.2.
The cut lines don’t show, even though I have them enabled.
What am I missing? (I am very new to this.)

When enabled Cut lines should show when you “Cut” audio. Note that “Cut” and “Delete” are different. Cut lines do not appear where audio is “deleted”.

Oh, thank you, Steve. I misunderstood “cut lines.” When I’ve edited audio in Final Cut Pro, lines show when I’ve deleted sections.
Is there anything like this in Audacity?

Just use “Edit > Cut” (I think “Command + X” on Mac) rather than “Delete”.
