Can't remove faint beating

Audacity 2.1.2
Windows 10 x64

Hi,

I just wanted some help editing some audio. So basically, I record a live stream from online from a local organisation and so directly plug the microphone jack into the audio one so the audio directly records without noise from me or other things. This usually works but this time a beating noise for some reason has appeared all throughout my audio and I suspect my cable has now broken. I tried using the noise reduction but i just can’t get rid of it. The actual quality of the recording is awful too but I can deal with that properly once I get rid of the noise but just can’t seem to do so. I’ve attached a small part of it.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Try using the “WASAPI loopback” method described here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html

Hi,

I’ll be sure to try that next time but would you have any advice on how to remove the beating such as from the clip I uploaded

The Noise Gate plug-in: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Noise_Gate
