Can't record since I switch to Fiber Optic out to DAC

I have been using Ver. 3 for a few yr., and it record just fine. My old setup is:

Sound Blaster ZxR Analog Out at my 3.5mm Line Out 1 Jack (Rear L/R) to my Active Speaker (Analog L/R)

Just the other day, I got some Xmas gift, so my new setup is:

sound Blaster ZxR connects to my DBPro Daughter Board, Fiber Optic Out from Optical S/PDIF Out jack to the Optical IN of my Schiit MODI, from the Schiit MODI analog L/R out to the input of my Active Speaker

Since then, there is no sound when I click Record, what should I select at the pull down menu of the software?

On first pull down, it has MME, Windows Direct Sound, Windows WASAPI

On the 2nd pull down menu, it has:

Primary Sound Capture driver
Microphone
What U Hear
Digital Audio S/PDIF
Aux (SB ZxR Daughter board)

What are you trying to record? … A microphone plugged into the soundcard? Streaming audio? Etc.?

Try What-U-Hear first… But that may only work when you’re using the soundchip on your motherboard.

If that doesn’t work select WASAPI, then the Soundblaster selection that says (loopback). If there is a separate loopback selection for the optical output, choose that.

it works once I select the loopback. The WhatUHear doesn’t work. Thank you very much, I really appreciate the help
