Have been using Audacity for several years, this is my third or fourth version I’ve installed (currently on 2.1.0). My ability to record mono tracks ceased a good while back. Was hoping that moving to the latest version would fix the problem. The work around is to record stereo, then convert stereo to mono, but would be good to find the real problem. Computer is a Dell workstation with Realtek High Definition Audio card. Have had problem w/ both M-Audio and now recently installed UR22.
Why is that? What happens if you record with the number of recording channels set to “1 (mono)” in the device toolbar?
Note that the default mono recording input on the UR22 will be the first channel (the channel on the left as you look at the front sockets).
re: Note that the default mono recording input on the UR22 will be the first channel
And that fixed the problem! When recording mono, use channel 1 … Was using channel 2 because of the Hi-z.
Thanks for a quick response and resolution to the problem.
