I’m on MAC OS x El Capitan 10.11.6 and I use Audacity 2.3.0. I can’t open any of my wav files with audacity. Every time I try its says error, invalid or corrupt data file. This never happened until I downloaded the LAME MP3 converter through Audacity. Audacity also said if I downladed the FFmpeg converter then it should open my files. I did and got it synced with audacity and still it will not let me open any wav files. I have my own podcast and the way I save them is with a wav file. The site I use to post my podcast I need to convert it to MP3 which is why I downladed the LAME MP3 software, and like I said, since I downloaded LAME it doesn’t let me open wav files. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to be able to open wav files while still having the capability to convert those wav files to MP3?
Does Audacity choke on all WAV files, or only on ones you’ve created since you installed LAME? My guess is that the files have a .wav extension but are in fact MP3 files.

It chokes on all wav files. I had others that worked before LAME and now I try to open them with audacity and they don’t work.
Does it open this one?
