Can't make Audacity 2.0.5 work with Citronic AC-1 (SOLVED)

Hi
Please can someone tell me how to use the Audacity 2.0.5 with the Citronic AC-1 USB device. I have downloaded the latest version of Audacity from the site and can open it but I’m unable to set it up for a MacBook Pro (OX 10.8.3).

Also, when I plug the Citronic into the laptop, there is no indication of this. A few years ago I successfully used the device on an old Mac G4 after installing a now obsolete version of Audacity from the CD that came with the Citronic - to convert a vinyl source into digital (but can’t remember what I did!).

But now I can’t coordinate Audacity with Citronic. Please please help!
