I just started using Audacity and I am trying to record lyrics with my microphone over audio tracks. When I play back what has been recorded, I hear my voice clearly but the audio/music is being played faintly as if thru my headphones and not loud like in normal playback. Please help. Thanks
If you are soloing the track you recorded you should not be able to hear the music background at all. If that is the problem, make sure you choose your external microphone and not stereo mix in the third box of Device Toolbar .
If you are playing the music and your recorded lyrics then make sure you have not turned down the -…+ gain slider on the Track Control Panel of the music track.
