can't hear playback

I bought a USB turntable a couple years ago and am just now getting it out of the box. I have recorded an album and altho I can see where the tracks begin and end on the software, I’d like to be able to hear it. I did press Software Playback on the preferences, but its still not coming through my computer. Can anyone help me?

Windows, right?

It’s not unusual for Windows to see a “USB Sound Device” and assume sound has to go both ways. So it’s probably sending your music back out to the turntable – who has no idea what to do with it.

You can force Windows to play to your speakers in the Windows Control Panels, or if you just want to hear the work, unplug the turntable and restart the computer.

Koz

Sometimes you can get away with selecting the speakers in the Audacity drop-down menus or Audacity Preferences.
