Sorry. I’m a new user. I know that this has been discussed before in a couple of contexts, but I still am having an issue…
I am running an iMac on Catalina 10.15.7 using Audacity 3.1.3.
I have hooked up my turntable via the UBS line-out function to mu iMac. I am clearly able to get sound in - I can see on the Audacity monitor. However, I cannot get sound out to either the built-in speakers or via the headphone jack. On the other hand, using GarageBand, I am able get sound in from the turntable and out thru either speakers. So, I know the turntable is set up correctly… but there must be a setting in Audacity that I am missing. I tried some of the items I saw in previous Q/A of this forum, but none work (it seems a more common problem with Mac’s is getting sound in). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thx
Are you trying to listen to the turntable while recording? If that is the case, do Transport > Transport Options > Software Playthrough.
