Can't export to external USB drive

Hello Audacity Users,

I have used Audacity to edit and track mark a 121 minute mix I have created. I recorded the mix in WAV format and used the add label At Selection function. When I try to save the mix with the label format using Export label function I get an error message pop up ‘Cannot export audio to’ my hard drive location which happens to a an external thunderbolt drive.

Audacity 2.1.2

Attached to this question is a screen shot of the event. I hope that this is useful.

Best to post new questions as new topics rather than tag them onto the end of someone else’s topic.
I’ve split your post to a new topic and given it a relevant title.

Depending on the format of your Passport Pro, the full path name may be too long (too many characters).
Try exporting to the local hard drive with a shorter file path - does that work?

The problem is the “/” (slash) character in the file name. Change it to “Sony(RMX) - Kranium-Justin Bieber.wav”

This will be fixed on Mac in the upcoming 2.1.3 release of Audacity. However, using back or forwards slashes in file names is a bad idea if these files are intended for use on the internet or for people on other systems than Mac.
