Cannot select on exact cursor point

When I zoom in on a track and select, the selection is not on the exact cursor point, but on either sides to the cursor, offset by 100milliseconds?

Is this a glitch? If not, where can I fix this? I restarted Audacity 3 or 4 times but it seems like it didn’t change anything. I am quite new to Audacity, any help appreciated, thanks!

There’s a little check-box in the bottom–left of the scree that says “Snap”. Make sure that’s not checked.

You can also check Select → At Zero Crossings but zero-crossings are usually closer together than 100ms.
