Cannot record M-AUDIO CODE61, keyboard play Via Focusrite2i2 vs3 and Audacity 3.7.1

Help needed!
Digital Keyboard: M-AUDIO code61
Focusrite Audio Interface: Scarlet2i2 vs3
Audacity 3.7.1
Windows 11
All drivers current.
Microphone records (Line1)
USB connections: Focusrite to PC, Keyboard to PC
Connection test sends audible sound

I can’t record keyboard keys, etc, reset keyboard to defaults, no luck.

Recording device shows Analog 1+2 (3-Focusrite USB Audio)

Any ideas? must be simple as all YouTubes show almost plug and play…

I think your keyboard is a MIDI controller with no actual audio. Audacity can’t capture-record MIDI messages or convert them to audio.

That turns out to be the issue. I spent a lot of time to get to your response and I appreciate your time very much!!

I switched to Cakewalk as a DAW, which records audio, used a Youtube that showed how to integrate my Digitial Keyboard, and now it all works (I can play piano through my keyboard).
