Cannot install Audacity lastest version

Dear all, this is my first post. Thank you for your patience.

When clicking in the link to dowload, Audacity does download from the web. But when double clicking on the RUN option to execute the installation it quickly shows up a language window (english, for example) which comes out almost at once and nothing else happens. All activity is dead after that.

Tried Chrome, and Explorer and same problem. System… Windows XP, professional, with service pack 3 listed in the system description. 32 bits.

I searched the support documentation and FAQs but could not find a clue to my problem.

Make sure you are downloading Audacity from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows.

Clear the download list or cache in your browser or download manager then try downloading again.

As it says on http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#exe, using “Run” may not work. Save the installer file (EXE) and then double-click that EXE file to install Audacity.
