I’m not sure, but I don’t think you need FFmpeg for FLAC. Did you try downloading MP3? I know Audacity can open an MP3 file without any add-ons, although you need LAME to make (export) an MP3.
When I attempted to import ‘raw data’ it is just noise.
Of course! The raw FLAC data is compressed and it has to be decompressed to get audio. (Compression is sort-of like encryption… It looks like… sounds like… garbage unless it’s properly decoded.)
Aha! I downloaded the wrong file. And it is working now. Thank you. How can I determine if it is an original flac file or if it was another file format and saved as flac?
And I also need to remove echo from the recording, please? I am unsure if it was part of the original or added as an effect. Nevertheless, I need to remove it.
