Cannot hear when NOT recording

Audacity 2.3.2

When recording from my cassette deck…I used to be able to hear the audio without Audacity recording…
Now I cannot…
There is a switch to turn on to be able to hear without recording…but I cannot find it…

I’m assuming something happened with some Msoft updates that were installed a few days ago…
Last week it worked just fine…

Looking thru preferences I cannot find anything where I can hear audio without recording it…

Thoughts and ideas appreciated…

That switch is in Windows, not Audacity.

I’m working from memory as I’m not on Windows, so you may need to look around a bit, but as I recall:
Open the Windows Sound control panel,
select the “Recording” tab,
then select the cassette deck (probably labelled as “USB something”),
and in “Properties” enable “Listen to this device”.
