Cannot edit Aud 2.0.2 - Windows 7

Using Audacity 2.0.2 with Windows 7 Home premium- cannot edit an audio file - no matter which delete/copy keystrokes or edit menu selection.
I have looked at and searched various forums, FAQs - Can’t find my solution!
I used Audacity without any problem when using XP but this seems to be a real issue in Win 7!

Sorry- OPERATOR ERROR –
I came here to delete the post and saw your reply.
I CAN edit and did! I had forgotten to STOP the play - only had it paused!
