Whenever I open preferences, I cannot click “ok” without getting an error message saying “directory is not suitable (at risk of being cleaned out)”. How can I fix this?

Whenever I open preferences, I cannot click “ok” without getting an error message saying “directory is not suitable (at risk of being cleaned out)”. How can I fix this?

What directory path are you trying to change to? Choose the recommended temporary directory of C:\Documents and Settings<your username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Audacity\SessionData, Audacity won’t let you save to directories that cleanup applications target, because you can lose your work without warning if you use such directories.
