First the easy thing… Make you are “exporting”, not “saving”. When you save, you create an AUP3 project, which can only be opened in Audacity.
If that’s not the problem, go to Edit → Preferences → Modules and make sure “mod-pcm” is enabled. (Make sure everything else is enabled too.)
FYI - When you re-install those settings are not updated.

DVDDoug! Somehow the mod-PCM box said it had failed. I dont know how that might have happened, but after i checked it again, AND only after i rebooted my computer, IT WORKS PERFECTLY AGAIN. Thanks so much. Any idea why it might have failed?
I don’t have any idea why that happens. But we’ve seen quite a few reports about people “loosing” MP3.
