Can I use a XLR to 1/4 cable for my Sennheiser e835?

Hi,
Just bought a Sennheiser e835 that comes with a XLR to XLR cable. I am wondering if I can plug in a XLR to 1/4 jack?

If you mean the one on the front of your guitar amp, yes, and by adapter cable you mean one designed to do this, yes.

Note the 1/4" plug only has one little black band on the part that plugs in. Cables with two black bands may not work.

Yes you can do that, but it may not work very well. Is the 1/4 jack socket intended for connecting a dynamic microphone? Is the 1/4" jack socket intended for a balanced or unbalanced input?
