can i change the bit rate when exporting an MP3 file

hi
i have the audacity 1.3 Beta(unicode)
i have a question regarding exporting files.
after i have finished editing the song i export it in MP3 file format. it is always 128kbps and the audio quality is lost a little bit. is there anyway in this version of Audacity so i can increase the bit rate like 192 kbps or higher
hope i get a reply soon
bye the way wat does unicode mean

If you’re in 1.3, it’s…

File > Export > MP3 > Format (MP3) > Options > Quality.

You can set whatever bitrate the program can reach. It’s much more difficult in 1.2, but you can do it there, too, in Preferences.

Unicode is one of the standard collections of letters and words that computer programs can use. For example, the much older ASCII character set does not recognize the Spanish Ñ with the little worm on top. Unicode can do that before breakfast.

WOW THANKS SO MUCH I NEVER SAW THE OPTION BUTTON THERE THANKYOU MAN

Wow, even i did not see that “options” option in the windows save file dialog that opens, audacity people, please make this option more prominent, it just gets lost and people hardly see it

You can always post it in the “Adding Features to Audacity” section of this forum: Adding Features - Audacity Forum
