Burning files to CD

Audacity 2.1.3 .exe
Nero 7 Ultra
Windows 10

I am trying to burn WAV files using Nero 7. After normalizing and adjusting the length using Audacity I export the files and try to burn it to a CD.
Nero says it took one second to burn. I know that can’t be. There is nothing burned to the CD. The files that I have been using are extracted from YouTube as MP3s. The files play fine once converted to WAV, they just won’t record.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Does it ask you anywhere in the process what length you want the song gap to be? It’s normally two seconds between songs for an Audio CD, but most CD Authoring Programs let you change it.

Has this ever worked?

Koz

Yes it does ask. Changing the setting doesn’t affect the fact that it won’t record.

That’s not why I asked. And the second question?

Koz

I’m sure you have a reason for using Nero, but Windows Media will also burn Audio CDs. Does that work?

This page has some suggestions for CD burning software. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with Nero but it’s not working for you so it’s worth trying something else. (I normally use ImgBurn with a cue sheet.)

Can your Nero burn regular data files to CD? Is there a chance your CD burner is bad? Is there a chance that there’s something wrong with the blank CDs? (I had a bad batch of CDs once… In my case, the CDs would burn, but they were flaky when I tried to play them.)

Bad disks and burner should show up if you try to burn with Window Media.
