¿BUG? VOLUME PLAYBACK doesnt correspond with VOLUME CLIPS

Im creating some tones (3500hz) in diferent samplerates in the same session (8K, 16K, 44.1K, 96K…)
What am I doing wrong that when I play each track independent in solo, some sound louder than others?
NOTE: Im creating the tone with the same amplitude (0.8). Im using SOLO MODE in “simple” so, when I hit a solo the rest of the tracks get muted.
Thanks

The only thing I can think of is, there is a volume slider to the left of each waveform.

I assume the waveforms look like they are the same volume?

I’ll probably regret posting this, but that has never stopped me before.

Is what you are hearing, really in different sample rates?

I thought I once read somewhere that processing is always converted and done in 44.1K sample rate. If that is the case, they definitely should all sound the same.

They are in different sample rates, I can’t send you a screenshot I lf it would help you to understand what’s happening, but both are different sample rate, I can see it zooming and watching the samples points.

When I hit the play button on the transport, it sounds diferent levels BUT, I noticed that if I play with the time play button (at the bottom in audacity), then both sounds the same level… Weird, I don’t get what is wrong…

HERE IS THE SECUENCE:
1: PROJECT SET AT 8000HZ Sample rate
2: Sine signal of 3500Hz generated in a track
3: zoom to the track to see the sample points
4: PROJECT SET AT 44100HZ Sample rate
5: Sine signal of 3500Hz generated in a track
6: zoom to the track to see the sample points (compare both)
7: Play SOLO the 8Khz track. (using the transport play at the top) You can see the meters
8: Play SOLO the 44.1Khz track. (using the transport play at the top) You can see the meters
9: Play SOLO the 8Khz track. (using the “play at speed” button at the bottom) You can see the meters
10. 9: Play SOLO the 44Khz track. (using the “play at speed” button at the bottom) You can see the meters .

During simple playback, some are louder than others. In preferences → Quality, realtime quality defaults to medium without dithering, which is very noticable at 8k while being practically imperceptible at 48k. If you set this to best quality, the difference should become much harder to detect. Same if you resample all tracks to 192k or similarly high.

You rock!! That’s it! I would like to keep to understand why is this affecting the level output.
Thanks very much
