Whenever I use the graphic EQ or filter curve EQ multiple times in a project, on several short clips (I haven’t worked out how many times causes this issue) my project will crash on closing, and it won’t compact. So I end up with huge project files, sometimes 30 or 40gb when it should be way less than 1.
I’m using Audacity 3.7.1. Is this a known bug?
I’m hesitant to update to the latest version because I’ve been burned before when plugins I’ve been using no longer work in a new version.
I’ve tried various ways to make the project files smaller, sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. Copying the whole project into a new project file usually ends up with a bigger project file than I started with, that still won’t compact.
Copying the tracks over one at a time sometimes works. The new project will sometimes compact when closing.
Any advice for how to get around this problem would be very gratefully received.
