I am a bass player and would like to make bass lines more prominent in mp3’s. I’ve tried the “bass boost” effect, but all I get is very muddy bass. Does a step-by-step tutorial exist for this…easily understandable by a 5 year old? 
You join a long list of people who want to split off instruments from a mixed song and do things to the instruments.
It’s not easy. Even though the notes you’re playing are very different from the other instruments, the overtones, harmonics, bowing, and plucking sounds are not. All that extra stuff is what keeps the notes from sounding like thick mud – and those sounds cannot be split.
