Border appears in clear track background; editing changed.

Hi,

When I go to edit my mono voice tracks, I must have pressed some key(?!) that makes a grey upper and lower border appear where before, just the wave form was there (with white background only). It also causes the highlighting shading to be in the background, not on the waveforms. This is frustrating–I went through the manual, and can’t find the solution to getting my tracks back visually the way they were before. Thanks in advance, Susan

You have probably either clicked on the Envelope Tool or the Multi-Tool in the Tools Toolbar - you just need to click on the Selection Tool (the I-beam) - see this page in the manuals: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tools_toolbar.html

Or you may have zoomed inadvertently in the Vertical Scale - see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audio_tracks.html#scale
