Blue lines

I have gone through this cassette tape three times. Each time something has gone wrong and I started over. I love this tape but do no want to listen to it again.
I was labelng the songs when I hit a key that did something I don’t know how to get out of. I clicked on edit and the choice was do I want to undo envelope. I clicked it. Now the waveform lines are edged in blue. When I try to label a song the waveform disappears. How do I get rid of these blue lines and get back to normal? I have a headache from stress and these earbuds.

F2 selects Envelope Tool.

Hit F1 to go back to Selection Tool, but before anything else, Edit > Undo all the Envelope actions.

Thank you Gale.
Is it possible to turn off keyboard controls so I want keep doing this?

I have another question. I keep getting this: Audacity Sound Editor has stoppd working. I can exit Audacity and come back & most of the time it will work. Sometimes I have to do it more than once. What do you think is wrong?

CTRL + P top open Preferences, then choose “Keyboard” from the list on the left. In the drop-down menu called “Category”, choose “Command”. Click the line that says “Envelope Tool F2”. Press Clear, then OK. You can find this in the Manual, too:
Audacity Manual .

Have you saved an Audacity project and is it crashing in the same project, or does it crash in different pieces of work?

I would Install 2.0.2 which is our latest version (it should be released in a few days time):
http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-win-2.0.2rc4.exe .

You can install it into the same directory where you have 2.0.0 or 2.0.1 now.

If you still get crashes, please try and remember exactly what menus or keyboard presses you used immediately before it crashed.

Gale

I am going to wait on 2.0.2.

If there are no more rc’s, rc4 will be renamed and released as 2.0.2.

If you want to wait, you can check the announcement at the top of the Windows forum for when 2.0.2 is released.
