Beats with reverse echo.. Why?

HI all,
Following the workflow to digitize recordings from vinyl.
Prior to exporting tracks, I listened and found awful effect on most tracks (classic house, acid etc) - best described as a kind of hissing reverse echo before beats.
Can anyone tell me what process might have developed this artefact, and how I can avoid it?
(And yes, I know dance is a crime against sound!)
Cheers

Did the problem exist with the original recording?

My guess is that you may have applied too much Noise Removal (or not used an appropriate selection for the noise profile).

pre-echo compression artifact is another possibility, caused by too much lossy mp3 compression : i.e. bit-rate is too low.

Thanks for the advice!
