Okay, I am new to Audacity and I need to use it to record my voice for input into Captivate. I have been playing with it and have gotten my voice to a good point but there is a terrible amount of background noise along with my voice. How do I remove it or how should I record the voice? Any tips you can give will be appreciate. I read where it was better to record the voice over and then inport them to captivate instead of using captivate. The best I can do with recording is to lock myself in a conference room.
Thanks
Amy

That’s how I do it. I’ve been known to postpone or cancel voice recording sessions because the sound-proofed and isolated Executive Conference Room wasn’t available.
There is no magic filter to make your kitchen into a Hollywood Sound Stage.
You pretty much don’t need us. You know how it works. Your assumptions are perfectly correct.

You didn’t say what kind of microphone or set up you had. We can push you around a little once we know that, but 99.99% of success is getting a quiet, echo-free room. I’ve been known to get a good scratch voice track on the laptop built-in microphone with a quiet room.
