background noise

I’m using audacity on Win 7 and it was installed via a CD that came with my turntable or cassette tape machine from Grace.

Presently I am converting cassettes to mp3’s and have a problem I can’t find on the forum.

My cassettes have talking in the background of the music that is playing on them. Audacity removes the voices in the background and I want to KEEP the voices on my mp3’s. How can I do that? Is there a way to enhance the talking, and modify it once accomplished?

You might have Windows Enhanced Services running. That’s the service that’s supposed to help make Skype calls better and clearer, but it can interfere with entertainment recording.

Audacity doesn’t apply filters or effects during recording, so whatever the computer gives Audacity to record, that’s what goes down.
