I have been recording some old Marciac jazz concerts broadcast by France Musique on their internet site. These are concerts I attended some years back. I use a Samsung tablet as the audio source and record via a Behringer UCA202 interface and Windows 10. I am monitor the audio from the Behringer monitor output. All seems fine, I edit the recording and save as an MP3 file.
However, when I play back the saved file there is varying background interference which makes it poor quality. I can record so BBC3 broadcasts and occasional France Musique broadcasts without this interference. The question is, is this purposely put on the concert audio outputs, as some sort of sub carrier in order to keep copyright safe. The audio from the France Musique website is perfectly listenable it’s just on the recorded file. Any ideas?
