Good Afternoon: I am currently using Widows XP - Sp3. and I am using a Sony HDR - SR7 camcorder. I have installed the newest version and associated plugins for importing AC3 content from the camcorder. The audio file was imported in 6 channel to the audacity screen and I can interface with each one of the channels. What I would like to do is to eliminate or overwrite the audio on the recorder and export various music files to the .MTS video file. Is this possible to do with Audacity or could you recommend something that would accomplish this procedure.
Thanks for you time

Please be careful with Windows XP. Microsoft are no longer officially supporting it, so it will be unpatched against any new security vulnerabilities that appear.
Make sure you have XP Service Pack 3. You can still download Service Pack 3 from Microsoft if necessary: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389/en-gb .
Ensure you have a good third-party anti-virus application. Be aware though that this will not give you complete protection against a previously unknown attack.
For some extra protection you can install http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/jj653751 .
If it is not practicable for you to update to the much more secure Windows 7 or Windows 8, you can consider installing a Linux operating system instead. Most versions are free and all are very secure.

Of what - Audacity? We need all three numbers in the Audacity version to be sure what you have.
We can only advise you with authority about Audacity. As AC3 is the native audio format for AVCHD probably you want to export as AC3 from Audacity. Probably the first thing to decide is what app you are going to use to replace the audio in the video file. You may even want to do that in a dedicated MTS video editor and not in Audacity. See these search results: edit mts video - Google Zoeken.
