Available Offline?

All of my MP3 files have mysteriously shifted to an unchangeable property Available Offline and now I am unable to play them.

P.S. Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am using Windows 8 and the latest version of audacity.

This is nothing to do with Audacity.

A lot of common audio formats will say “Available offline” on Windows 8.1. If a file is available offline then as I understand it, you can play, open or edit it (according to the format) in Sky Drive even if you don’t have an internet connection. Please see:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/skydrive-online-available-offline

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/getting-started-skydrive-tutorial .

So if you are just trying to play the files in Explorer or Windows Media Player “Available offline” should not stop you playing them.

Where are you trying to play they files? Are they really MP3 files? You can use MediaInfo to look at the file information. Get the version without installer, because the installer may have malware: http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en/Download/Windows .
