AUP3-WAL files won't close or delete

Hey y’all,
I know that an Audacity “AUP3-WAL” file is a temporary file that is supposed to close (or disappear) when an aup3 recording session is closed. I currently have close to 200 WAL files in my hard drive that will not disappear or close and they’re taking up 2.5GB of space.

How do I get rid of them? The Finder will not allow me to drag them to the Trash.

I have:
• closed Audacity
• restarted my iMac

How do I get rid of them?

I am thinking you have these files mirrored on a network drive somewhere. Which service are you using?

You could try disabling the mirror.
