I’m a podcast editor, and I ran into some major trouble today. I use Reaper and Audacity. Long story short, after an epic Audacity edit today, I was getting frustrated by slow copy/paste of clips between tracks. Then as I sat and waited, my computer randomly lost power.
After it restarted, I tried to open the aup3 file. Audacity just says “not responding.” I left it for a very long time, but it never recovered.
I’ve noticed the extra files, the .aup-wal and the .aup-shm, the ones that are supposed to go away when you close, are still there.
I have many hours of work that I saved, but now can’t open. Any tips would be deeply appreciated!
