I have a lot of songs copied to my computer in a file. All the songs are at a different sound level. How can I get the same sound level for all songs.
Depending on your media player you can probably use ReplayGain or for iTunes player use “Sound Check”.
If you need more help, tell us what player or player software you are using and what file format you are using.
There is one thing that often people are often surprised (and disappointed) about… The majority of commercial music is normalized (maximized), including many quiet sounding songs. That means you can’t increase those tracks without clipping (distorting). Since you can’t boost the quiet songs, the only way to match perceived loudness is to make the loud songs quieter.
Or presumably compress the quiet-sounding songs, reducing their peaks so they can be made louder.
