audio track gets moved backward after i record

Hi, this has never happened to me before and started today. I’m recording a bass part for a song and after i press stop to finish the recording my bass audio track gets moved backwards putting it out of alignment with all the other audio tracks.

I’m using windows 10 and audacity 2.1.2 and i obtained the zip.

As a stop-gap, you can use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows) to shove the tracks back into alignment. Any other damage?

Is this a USB sound adapter or microphone? When was the last time you hard restarted your machine? Shift-Restart.
