Hey guys,
I used to have an MSI laptop hooked up with a Rode Go mic and the sounds quality was absolutely crisp when I record with Audacity.
I’ve upgrade to a better laptop now, but the sound quality is much worse compared to my previous laptop.
I can’t work out what to do… nor where to start.

New computers come with “audio enhancements” enabled.
You need to disable these enhancements for faithful recording/playback … https://youtu.be/eXGyAzk3fd4?t=49 t=49
Thanks for the quick reply. It sounds even worse now… hmm… maybe I will just return the laptop and see if I can fix my old one.
It does have this THX surround thing that my previous laptop doesn’t, but not sure how that affects the microphone.

There can be a second layer of audio enhancements, including recording enhancements, sometimes called MaxxAudio.
