Audio output

Hello,

I am new to Audacity.

I have a macbookpro, purchased in the last year, OSX El Capitan. I am using Audacity 2.1.0.

I want to listen to Audacity output on external wireless speakers. I can switch back and forth between internal and external speakers just fine on itunes, either from within itunes or going to sound in preferences. However, when I am trying tp play something from audacity I get the internal speakers no matter what the setting in sound (in the preference menu). Within Audacity, there is only one output option “built-in output”. It seems that I need to get Audacity to give me more output options. How do I do that?

Are you using El Capitan or Yosemite? Your profile says Yosemite.

If you enabled the wireless speakers while Audacity was running, restart Audacity or use Transport > Rescan Audio Devices in the Audacity menu bar.
