Seems I am having trouble a lot with audio input, and seeing the audio on the screen, the time should be a lot slower for audio editing, and looking at peaks for distortion, the older version seems much better for this, I have the newest version of Audacity. The audio input bars look good both on db, and linear. Im recording from a recorder a BR600 digital recorder. Should there be a pad to drop the db, or volume down a bit before it gets to the record amplifiers. I have to 44100 hz sampling rate for some of the internet play on sites like CDBABY. I should upgrade I know to a DAW but, i already have this disc recorder. I will upgrade soon.

No, probably not. Windows has the ability to scale the USB digital stream (as I understand it).
Was there another question in there?
